Teresa Tan has been in the service industry for more than 20 years, with 5 years of experience in managing postnatal confinement services.
She set up the Malaysia’s Confinement Lady and Nanny Union Facebook page approximately 5 years ago to help soon-to-be mothers in their search for confinement ladies. Soon after she has set up the Facebook page, she realised that many mothers do not know what to do when they are faced with issues such as non-professional confinement ladies, having their deposit cheated, and many other problems. That was when she decided to start her own confinement lady recommendation services. While doing that, she also managed another related Facebook page – Blacklisted Confinement Nannies in Malaysia and Singapore (translated).
Everyone knows that a mother risked her own life in bringing her baby to the world. A mother herself, Teresa is fully aware of the importance of having the right postnatal confinement lady. Before recommending one, she would take the time to understand the mother’s needs and wants. She would then match those requirements against her list of contacts to find the most suitable and professional confinement lady for her clients. The positive feedback that she received from her clients gave her a great satisfaction and motivated her to keep up with the stringent selection process.
To date, the Malaysia’s Confinement Lady and Nanny Union Facebook page has more than 22,000 followers while the Blacklisted Confinement Nannies in Malaysia and Singapore page has about 4,000 fans. Her clients are from all around the world including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, US, UK and many more.
